Distribuit de casa de discuri InsideOut Music, discul contine in total opt piese, din care una este un cover dupa Buddy Miles. Primul single de promovare este “Empyrean Sky” si poate fi ascultat mai jos.
Pentru inregistrarea lui “The Phoenix“, Derek Sherinian a colaborat cu bateristul Simon Philipps, Tony Franklin, Jimmy Johnson si Billy Sheehan la bass si chitaristii Joe Bonamassa, Zakk Wylde, Steve Vai, Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (Sons Of Apollo) si Kiko Loureiro (Megadeth).
